Roman Ancient Silver Coin Small Pill Thrace 400 BC WDED-59

Roman Ancient Silver Coin Small Pill Thrace 400 BC WDED-59

$115.00

Here is a Pre-Roman Mesembria Thrace, a small silver coin. This is very small (pill -- about the size of a baby aspirin), and is 1.11 gram of silver (diobol). Attributed to the era 450 to 350 BC (before the Roman Empire was established). A very regular planchet for this early type. An unidentified ruler wearing a crested helmet is found on the obverse. The reverse has the letters META in a wheel with 4 spokes. Quite a conversation piece that makes you look a lot closer, this would be a great addition to a set of Pre-Roman coins. An excellent type coin for a BC silver coins set. Thanks for looking. Enjoy. WDED-59
